Art therapy for your healing
Art Therapy is an evidence-based approach to help those in pain process significant events, and find words to put feelings into meaning. A trained art therapist is able to help you understand symbols, themes and the meaning behind what you are experiencing. You are experiencing pain from trauma, recovering from addictions or abuse. Maybe the traumatic event was too big, or difficult to sort through. Your child may need additional help or support to put words to the event, and develop meaning to implement a new way of thinking or behaving. There may be a difficult relationship, or grief around the loss of a loved one, or a transition in a child or teen’s life that is difficult for them to handle.
This approach is a common form of expression, where it can also be an emotional release and provide a form of meditation and relaxation. For children and teens, it is often coupled with child counseling and play therapy, is often personal, educational, communicative, and collective…a form of self-care that is empowering.
With the help, support and care from our trained art therapist, you can break free from what is holding you captive, develop specific skills to help you understand the meaning behind your experience. Our art therapist has specific training and education in art therapy and is here to help you on your journey.
