Ashley Cross, PLPC
Ashley Cross, PLPC, is a graduate from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Her emphasis area is in couples and families and she has a passion for working with children and providing teen therapy. She has completed training for Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Level 1 Gottman couple’s counseling. Ashley is committed to working alongside parents, guardians, and other family members so that each client has a strong support system, feels encouraged, and has a team to help them become their best self.
Ashley has several years of experience working with children of all ages on the Autism spectrum. She has been working as an applied behavioral analysis therapist for three years while completing graduate school. She also has experience in play therapy and sand tray therapy. Her interests are to continue working with children on the spectrum, as well as working with those who have experienced trauma.
In addition to with working with children, Ashley enjoys working with clients of all ages. With her emphasis being in couples and families, Ashley seeks to help couples through hardships in their relationship, including premarital counseling and communication skills. She believes that couples can start feel confident in their relationship again through stronger and healthy communication.
Ashley takes a person-centered approach to therapy, allowing the client to lead the sessions. She holds the belief that helping a person to realize and utilize their strengths can lead to effective problem solving and confidence that healing can happen.
