Counseling Interns at Embark
Are you looking for quality counseling, and also looking for affordable options? We have the answer! Choosing a counseling intern at Embark Counseling Services can provide great benefit for you and your child for many reason.
Fresh Ideas and Perspective
Our counseling interns are currently developing their area of expertise and implementation of the education that they are engaged in. All licensed professionals are required to undergo supervised experience, where they are actively engaged in the counseling experience, including research, treatment planning, developing therapeutic rapport and navigating the therapeutic experience with each of their clients. Oftentimes, they are presented with fresh ideas that have been developed by the leading experts in our field, including their clinical supervisors, both at the University level, as well as the Site level, such as with the professionals at Embark Counseling Services, LLC.
Smaller Caseload
While completing their educational requirements, the counseling interns also engage in consistent supervision with their faculty supervisor, as well as their clinical supervisor, and engage in collaborative discussions regarding providing therapy, case conceptualization and researching and developing activities for their clients to engage in. For children, this often includes providing therapeutic games, activities, worksheets, and providing guidance on how to understand neurodevelopment, child development and parent-child interactions. This research and development is a critical piece of a counselor’s overall development. Due to their academic requirements, oftentimes, counseling interns will see a fraction of the clients that a licensed professional will. This allows for more professional guidance and expertise to be delivered with each individual, family or couples session.
Commitment to Evidenced-based and Emerging Research
Although our licensed professionals are required to keep their knowledge and training up to date with current trends and emerging research in our field, oftentimes our counseling interns are learning from the professors developing the new psychotherapy research and methods in counseling. Interns spend upwards of 9 hours per week learning about theories, interventions, the therapeutic relationship and the agent of change. Your counseling interns are on the cutting edge of using methods that are proven effective. The relationship between counseling intern and licensed professional provides the right blend of ensuring that your experience is not only time-tested, evidence-based, authentic and progressive, but it also ensures that your experience is not driven by out-dated practices that are not founded on the current research findings.
