Ali is a long time advocate for the elder population and their families. She started her academic career at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, receiving a double major degree in Psychology and Sociology, with a minor in Gerontology. She earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. She holds a Licensed Master’s Level Social Work License, in good standing, in the state of Kansas. Her expertise ranges from assisting families and older adults struggling with the aging process, to mediating difficult discussions regarding next steps, and strategies to strengthen the family during difficult transitions
Early in her career, Ali discovered that the entire family wants support and guidance on how to navigate the stress and anxiety that results from not knowing how to care for their aging loved one. Her belief is that all persons struggle with life transitions, and with the right support and resources, any individual can achieve their goals. She prides her work in partnering with each individual, as well as the family, to learn their best way to handle the decisions they need to make regarding their situation, and guide them in developing strategic goals to achieve the peace and balance they are desiring. With her expertise and empathy, she partners with the individual, and oftentimes the family, to develop specific goals and strategies to navigate and feel at peace with their decisions and goals for their future. Families learn strategies to advocate for their aging loved one and to help uncover the strengths to ensure and healthy and happy outcome.
Most of Ali’s practice is rooted in a non-judgmental, strengths based model. She values cultivating a safe place for you to discuss your challenges, fears, anxieties and struggles with the aging process. She is compassionate, dedicated and intentional to establish a strong rapport with each individual, and guide each member family in problem solving through the challenges that the aging transition places on the future. She believes that the aging process not only affects the aging individual, but also the entire family.
Ali is happy to provide compassionate full-service coaching to help your family realize your dream of a peaceful transition throughout the aging process.
