You might be navigating your identity. You may feel overwhelmed and alone, or experiencing anxiety or depressive symptoms. You may simply want someone to hear you, connect with you, believe in you and support you while you explore your true self to find balance and peace. As an art therapist and counselor, she is passionate about helping you identify what you’re missing, and help you find it again. Her educational and professional training background has provided a creative way for Ashley to explore different forms of expression and connectivity for individuals, by exploring their interests along with their skill sets.
Ashley is a warm and compassionate art therapist and counselor, who provides a safe and warm environment for you to unburden yourself. She helps people manage through and heal from both past and present hurts, understanding the complexity of traumatic events in their lives, whether situational or interpersonal.
Therapeutic Approach and Art Therapy
She provides an empathetic ear from a person-centered, strengths-based approach, incorporating creative art outlets, play therapy and meeting her clients where they feel most emotionally and psychologically comfortable to uncover their inherent strengths and skillsets. She works with and helps children, teens and adults, and enjoys sharing the space to provide creativity and self-exploration to make new discoveries, develop resiliency and work through life difficulties. Ashley creates an atmosphere of inquiry and sharing, facilitating effective communication, and fostering healthy and productive connections.
She has an integrated and collaborative approach to her therapy practice, focusing on continually supporting clients as they work toward their goals. Her passion is seeing both individuals and families work through and go on to thrive in every aspect of their lives. She believes people long to be whole, not only psychologically, emotionally, and spiritually, but relationally as well.
Education, Professional Memberships and Trainings
Ashley earned a BFA in Studio Art, and a Bachelor’s Degree in English from Southern Arkansas University. She has earned a Master’s in Fine Arts in Art Therapy from Emporia State University, as well as a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Emporia State University.
Ashley is a member of the American Art Therapy Association
