Sydney is passionate about partnering with her clients as they overcome their situations while providing an accepting, supportive environment.
Therapy Approach
Sydney values meeting her clients right where they are on their journey towards healing, no matter their challenges. She is especially passionate about helping women during their fertility journey and motherhood. Whether you are experiencing grief from a pregnancy loss, preparing for motherhood, or experiencing difficulty conceiving, Sydney approaches perinatal and postpartum mental health with compassion and warmth. She empowers women to identify their inner strengths to find hope and healing throughout their journey.
Sydney approaches therapy from a trauma informed, person-centered perspective, with emphasis on neurobiology. She believes every client has strengths that foster resiliency during times of stress. She also prioritizes providing a safe space for her clients to authentically be themselves and express their genuine desires, concerns, thoughts, and emotions. As an attachment focused therapist, Sydney helps her clients navigate challenging interpersonal dynamics that originate from their family of origin. She utilizes psychodynamic evidence-based approaches, with influences from Mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, all while tailoring treatment towards her client’s unique, individual needs and goals. Sydney has completed Level 1 of EMDR training, and is eager to help you find relief and freedom with this modality.
Education and Trainings
Sydney earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Chemistry from the University of Missouri- Kansas City, and a Master of Arts in Counseling from MidAmerica Nazarene University with a concentration in mental health. Sydney is pursuing certification in both EMDR and perinatal mental health.
Sydney currently leads the New Mom’s Group in our Lenexa office.
