Fear gets in the way—fear about healing and change or how to help your child to navigate challenges and stressors. Life is hard, and you need someone to help guide you, believe in you, and find the courage to explore the overwhelming feelings holding you back. As a parent, you’re concerned about your child’s behaviors, social skills, or academic success and have hope for their confidence and success. Through Child Therapy, Carolyn helps your child, tween, or teen develop the awareness and tools to work through their experiences and build trust in themselves. Carolyn meets you right where you are, offering perspective and guidance to overcome trauma, difficulties, self-doubt, and negative self-talk or thinking.
Therapeutic Approach
Carolyn brings warmth and purpose to her practice and emphasizes establishing a strong rapport with her clients, whether children, families, or adults. She has an integrated, holistic approach to her child, tween, and teen therapy practice that includes developing a deep understanding of the context (social, relational, environmental, cultural, etc.) in which a person lives that influences your concerns. Carolyn provides counseling to individuals and families, focusing on attachment, Play Therapy, and EMDR.
Education & Training
Carolyn has a Master’s Degree in Counseling from LeTourneau University. Her current training includes Play Therapy, Theraplay®, and EMDR. With core training in Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), she uses this intervention to help caregivers develop knowledge in supporting and caring for children healing from trauma.
