Personality Priorities in Adlerian Play Therapy Description

When children present in our playrooms for Play Therapy, they are usually experiencing symptoms described by the adults as problematic for the family. Family dysfunction and family conflict is rooted in individuals striving to have their needs met, and this typically results in the parent’s need for compliance. Oftentimes, parents and children have conflicting goals that result from adverse experiences, both interpersonal and environmental within the family. Discouragement ensues and the personality priorities provide conceptualization for the dysfunction, problematic behaviors, distressed interpersonal interactions, primarily the parent-child dyad. Discover how assessing the lifestyle of each member of the family contributes to effective parent consultation and the improved satisfaction and dynamics of the parent-child relationship. In this training, we will explore how the personality priorities and examination of lifestyle of each family member is critical in trauma-informed Adlerian Play Therapy.

This training is an advanced training, and appropriate for Phase 2 or Phase 3 of APT instruction. This training meets 4 CE of theories according to APT.
