Play Therapy Group

As a parent navigating providing the best experiences for your child, a Play Therapy Group is a great option to help your childPlay Therapy Group build connections, confidence and emotion regulation skills to help manage transitions and big feelings.

We have a Play Therapy group specifically designed for kids ages 7-9 beginning 7/24/25, lasting 6 weeks, and space will be limited.  This Play Therapy Group is perfect for those who need a little care and support connecting with others, and planned specifically to support the beginning of a new school year!

Play Therapy Group Description & Curriculum

This Play Therapy Group supports children in developing social and emotional regulation skills using Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) and age-appropriate directive activities. Through developmentally appropriate play, children will explore challenges related to peer relationships, emotional expression, and self-awareness in a supportive, therapeutic environment.

Week 1: Build Connection and Safety

Attendees will explore ways to promote kind interactions, empower all members to participate, build trust

Week 2: Name Feelings and Talk it Out

Attendees will support one another in playful ways to learn effective communication skills and identifying big feelings

Week 3: Calming Big Feelings

Attendees will playfully practice emotion regulation and gain tools to use in real world situations

Week 4: What Makes a Good Friend?

Attendees identifying values in a good friend and playfully engage and provide positive interactions in the group

Week 5: Safe Boundaries and Speaking Up

Attendees participate in playful interactive games and role plays to practice safe interactions with one another

Week 6: Celebrating Strengths and Saying Good-Bye

Attendees review skills learned through planned play group activities that involve strengths building and key take-aways
