Trauma

You may be experiencing a hurt in your life, or watching your child or teen struggle with big things in their life.  Children and teens experience many of the same life stressors as adults, such as anxiety, depression or even eating disorders.  You are most likely looking for ways to manage your situation, or a new way to get through it.  Your biggest obstacle does not define you, or your child, and having a trained trauma competent counselor will help you in discovering your strengths to overcome, and to strengthen your resiliency.  Grief, anxiety, depression, interpersonal relationships struggles, disordered eating or transitions in difficult times do not have to define you.  Candice is here to support your journey and healing with care and warmth, where you are not alone.

Candice is a compassionate counselor who creates a warm and safe environment for you to be heard and express yourself without judgement.  She finds great joy in helping others navigate their journey by instilling hope and discovering their own truth.

Therapeutic Approach

As a trauma competent counselor, Candice values each person’s strengths and approaches therapy from a holistic view.  Her therapeutic style is person centered and strengths-based, where she joins with you in discovering the best parts of you to change the parts that are distressful for you.  She finds the value in helping her clients reduce stress, learn new ways of coping and cultivating trust and a safe place to resolve any internal conflict.  She is passionate about providing a supportive environment that empowers people to talk through what is causing struggle, without judgement, and to be the best they can be.  Whether it is transforming negative self-talk into empowering self-talk or creating a meaningful life and interactions with others, or learning new ways to manage disordered eating.  Candice enjoys partnering with her clients to cultivate engaging and meaningful experiences that are evident in self-acceptance and self-love.
