Therapeutic Approach

Haley’s approach centers on empowerment, helping people recognize their unique skills and strengths and build self-confidence. Equally important in her approach is collaboration and ensuring her relationship with clients is strong, safe, and supportive. Using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Haley helps clients develop acceptance and understanding of the human experience and commit to using personal values to guide actions. She also uses strategies from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to assist in building coping skills, improving emotion regulation, and challenging unhelpful thinking. Additionally, she explores how attachment style impacts behaviors and relationships.

Education & Training

Haley received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from SUNY Brockport. Following her undergraduate degree, she completed her master’s degree in counseling from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Teresa Paterson Bartch, LPC, LCPC, RPT-S™, clinically supervises Haley.
