Are you feeling overwhelmed with life, feeling stuck, like it’s all too much? You may be feeling stress in many areas of life and struggling to figure out how to navigate things and make changes. It sometimes helps to have some support in helping you get unstuck and find a new path for yourself. Harlee is a genuine and compassionate counselor, offering that support you need to help you through. Through her counseling work, Harlee aims to help people learn how to face their challenges and hardships in healthy and uplifting ways, building their capacity to endure and thrive in life. She believes everyone has the strength and flexibility to get through whatever life throws their way, and her goal is to help people discover this.

Harlee provides individual counseling for teens and adults at our Northland and Lee’s Summit locations. She works with individuals experiencing a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and religious trauma. She also has experience supporting individuals who identify with the LGBTQIA + community.

Therapeutic Approach

Harlee is known for the kindness, compassion, and wit that she brings to her clients and those around her. In her counseling practice, she aims to create an environment where people feel safe enough to express themselves fully and discuss their deepest and most vulnerable parts of themselves. Her approach in working with teens and adults is collaborative and client-led, where clients are empowered to challenge, ask questions, and communicate about their experiences throughout the process. Harlee’s counseling approach draws from evidence-based theories, including ACT, Attachment, Family Systems, Humanistic, Feminist, Existential, and Social Justice oriented. Additionally, her approach explores structural injustice and environmental stressors and offers concrete tools and resources to ease suffering and promote change.

Harlee completed her undergraduate degree in Child and Family Development at Missouri State University and her master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from The University of Missouri – Kansas City.

Harlee is clinically supervised by Teresa Paterson Bartch, LPC, LCPC, RPT-S™ and works out of our Northland and Lee’s Summit locations.
