Laura believes every individual has unique strengths to help them overcome obstacles and find their purpose in life. Through her work, Laura helps her clients learn more about themselves, their feelings, thoughts, values, and beliefs, and gain confidence in who they are. She offers kindness and understanding to all her clients and creates a safe, non-judgmental space for people to explore how to be vulnerable, face challenges, and experience personal growth. Laura is an experienced Licensed Professional Counselor providing individual counseling support to adults with diverse concerns. She has a special interest in working with anxiety, depression, life transition, LGBTQ +, and women’s issues.

Therapeutic Approach

Laura uses existential and cognitive-behavioral strategies in her approach to counseling as well as positive psychology and psychodynamic techniques. Her work with clients involves teaching communication skills and supporting clients in improving their ability to express themselves to others and set appropriate boundaries. Sensitive to contextual factors that impact a person’s life, Laura carefully considers the environment in which a person lives, family dynamics, work stressors, and available social support in developing the therapeutic relationship and plan for treatment.

Education & Training

Laura received her bachelor’s degree in psychology at Northern Arizona University. She also completed a master’s degree in Psychology with an emphasis in mental health and a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in assessments at Avila University. Laura is a Licensed Professional Counselor and is currently pursuing her certification in perinatal and menopausal care.
