Lauren is a warm and compassionate therapist who values the importance of relationships utilizing a holistic therapy approach to healing and wellness. She strives to cultivate a safe and accepting environment for you, helping you identify the root of the issue at hand, exhibiting patience to support you on your journey and values the resiliency of the human spirit. She is here for you to give a voice to your story, inspire you, build upon your strengths, and gain insight into who you are and what you need for healing and wellness.

Lauren is also skilled at integrating spirituality into the therapeutic process. As a trauma-competent family systems therapist, Lauren guides you with empowering tools, such as education, practical coping skills, problem-solving strategies, and communication techniques to encourage personal and relational growth. She is passionate about helping her clients find relief from depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorders, heal from trauma and grief, and learn to manage stress and conflict.

Therapeutic Approach

Lauren values approaching her clients from a holistic therapy approach for healing and wellness, treating the whole family system. She engages the biological, psychological, emotional, and sociological factors that influence the whole person, including the spiritual part of the person. She practices from a person-centered therapeutic approach, most often utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. She also draws from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), focused on mindfulness and distress tolerance, and Gottman Method for relationship issues.

Education & Training

Lauren received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Work (BSW) from Wartburg College, Waverly, IA, and a Master of Social Work (MSW) from Saint Louis University, St. Louis, MO, with a specialization in clinical practice with families. Lauren has also completed Level 1 training in the Gottman Method.
