Everyone needs a safe place to process the difficult experiences in life. Maybe you are struggling to handle them or wish you could live without the burdens that continue to weigh you down. You are looking for answers, desperately wanting to overcome the anxiety or depression that affects you daily. Whether you are seeking support for your individual needs or with your relationships, Lindsay is passionate about providing a warm and supportive place where you can be seen, heard, and validated—a place where you can gain a new perspective. You can learn new skills and how to cope through challenges and find greater satisfaction in your life.

Lindsay works with children, adolescents, adults, as well as couples and families. She has a special interest in working with concerns such as family and relationship issues, anxiety, depression, trauma, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).

Therapeutic Approach

Lindsay’s approach honors the innate strength and abilities of her clients. Collaborative, experiential, and non-pathologizing, her approach helps children, adolescents, and adults understand and heal parts of themselves that may be protective or wounded from past experiences or trauma. Using openness, curiosity, and compassion, she offers a space for clients to connect with themselves deeply and discover their internal capacity to heal, grow, and lead their lives guided by their authentic selves. In addition to guiding clients in exploring their inner world, she helps them examine external factors such as how their family, culture, and environment have influenced their lives.

In her work with couples and families, she helps to repair connections and foster openness, understanding and shared meaning in relationships. Lindsay utilizes a person-centered, trauma-informed approach with all her clients, specifically using strategies from Internal Family Systems (IFS), CBT, DBT, and Gottman Method. Additionally, she is continuing training to use play therapy in her work.

Lindsay graduated from the University of Missouri – Kansas City with a Master’s degree in Counseling, Couples and Family emphasis. Additionally, she has completed Gottman Level 1 Training. She is currently pursuing post-graduate training in Play Therapy. She is clinically supervised by Ashley Cross, LPC and works in our Kansas City, MO office.
