Whether you are a teen struggling to manage big feelings, handle challenging situations, or overcome past trauma, or a parent looking for support in helping your child and family through difficult times, Talia wants to help you improve your life.
Talia is a child and teen counseling intern at our Kansas City, MO location, providing affordable counseling to children and teens in our community. She works with a variety of individuals with various concerns and has a particular interest in supporting individuals who have experienced trauma.

Therapeutic Approach

Talia is a genuine, empathetic, and caring counseling intern passionate about helping children and teens feel empowered over their challenges, improve their lives, and heal from past trauma. In her work with children and teens, Talia emphasizes understanding the dynamics of their family system and how the family as a whole can be supportive in learning new ways to cope and interact, leading to long-term healing and growth. She approaches her counseling work from a client-centered, family systems lens using trauma-informed interventions and techniques. Additionally, she uses Play Therapy to help her clients process their experiences.

Education & Training

Talia is currently completing her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Bellevue University. She is clinically supervised by Sally Frede, LSCW, CCLS, RPT-S™ and works at our Northland location.
