Our LGBTQ Support Group is an affirming place for teens to explore their gender identify, sexual orientation or gender expression without fear of rejection or judgement.  A safe place for teens who are questioning to be content and explore their world and experiences, while discovering ways to integrate their true self, aligned with their values.

Teens who experience depression or anxiety, and a member of the LGBTQ+ community, have at some point experienced bullying, teasing and rejection, and equally as important, likely feel like they do not belong to any group.  They want to belong.  They want to be heard and understood by their peers and in their social circles.  Consequently, your teen may not only have increased feelings of sadness, lower self-esteem and hopelessness, but they most likely are experiencing an increase in suicidal thoughts and other self destructive behaviors.  Together, we can support and affirm your teen to explore their true strengths and gifts in the safety of a support group.

Statistics show that LGBTQ+ teens are 4x more likely to consider suicide, and most likely engage in self-destructive behaviors. A safe, supportive and affirming place is critical for their overall wellbeing, health and happiness.  A place where it is okay to be yourself, explore past hurts and current experiences, and discover new ways of managing feelings and their relationships. Showing your love and support as a caring parent, and enrolling your teen in this group, can provide the right environment for your teen to find their voice and acceptance enhancing their quality of life.
